The Naath Education Fund Initiative’s (NEFI) main objective is to bridge gaps in access to quality education and establish a sustainable framework for educational advancement in the Naath Community. Central to NEFI’s mission is instilling a sense of collective responsibility within the community, emphasizing how united efforts can shape a brighter future for generations to come. The funds collected through NEFI will specifically be used to increase the number of scholarships we offer yearly.
The program is led by Tut Puot, a member of the Board of Directors responsible for Community Programs. He is supported by a team of dedicated ambassadors based in key Canadian cities. These ambassadors are selected from Naath Churches within the city and are tasked with engaging church congregations and facilitating the annual contribution of $20 CAD per Naath family within each church.
Our focus is on cities with a significant Naath community presence, including Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, the Greater Toronto Area (Kitchener, Mississauga, Hamilton), and Edmonton. Through this collective effort, we aim to advance our mission of Transforming the Naath Community through Education by ensuring sustainable community-driven support.
The program in Kenya is led by Panom Malual, the Program Coordinator for Kenya, and is supported by a dedicated NEFI Committee based in the country. Unlike the Canadian approach, which targets individual Naath families, the Kenyan model focuses on Community Associations, including the Nuer Community, the 4 States Associations, and the 16 Naath Counties. Each year, these associations have pledged to support the program in two key ways:
Monetary Contributions:
Nuer Community: KES 15,000 annually
Each State Association: KES 10,000 annually
Each County: KES 5,000 annually
Visibility and Engagement:
Associations will invite I Stretch My Hand to participate in their community events to promote the program and foster collaboration.
