About US
Bridging the Gap: Education for Refugee Youths
Kakuma Refugee Camp, one of the major refugee settlements in Kenya, is home to many South Sudanese families who fled conflict in their homeland. While the camp hosts refugees from various nationalities, educational opportunities—especially scholarships for high-performing primary school graduates—remain extremely limited.
As a result, many academically gifted but financially underprivileged children are unable to attend quality high schools, leaving their immense potential unrealized.
I Stretch My Hand was founded in response to this challenge. Our mission is to support bright South Sudanese refugee students within our community by providing high school scholarships. These scholarships open doors to quality education and create a pathway toward a brighter, more hopeful future.
We believe that talent and opportunity must go hand in hand—without the other, a real potential goes untapped.
